Other Victims

This group of victims is comprised of different categories. In it are a number of Antillean victims with incomplete or insufficient data, making it difficult to recognize them as official warvictims at this time. Also there are a number of Netherlands and foreign persons who did not die as a direct result of enemy action. They are however recognized as warvictims in their countries of origin. Some of them remain buried on the islands, most of them were transferred to cemeteries in their home countries after the war.
What all persons in this group have in common is the fact that they served their country, often far away from home. So they deserve our gratitude and respect. Their names ought to be remembered for the contribution they made to the protection of our islands and the ultimate victory of the Allied forces in World War 2.
